Each month we feature products that are neither spectacular nor horrendous. Really, they’re just “meh”. We’ll tell you why.
Sunscreens that are Meh
Coppertone Kids Continuous Spray -We can’t deny the fact that this sunscreen is one of the easiest to apply and it’s extremely effective at preventing burns. With that said, if you have especially active kids who spend the majority of a sunny day outdoors (a good thing!), you may go through a can or two per week. And, of course, it contains chemicals that many moms want to avoid and comes in a very non-eco-friendly container.
Green Beaver -While Green Beaver deserves props for producing an eco-friendly, healthy sunscreen (that provides very effective protection), our readers tell us that this product is ridiculously greasy and results in slippery babies and kids.
Banana Boat Sport - This particular sunscreen has a good consistency, it is easy to apply, and it provides long-lasting protection; however, it also contains those nasty chemicals.
Hawaiian Tropic – Readers told us that when they use higher SPF versions of this sunscreen (45+), the product is quite thick and their kids complain that it hurts when it is being applied. While effective in providing sun protection, this is yet another sunscreen formulated with chemicals.
Tell us: What sunscreen do you use on your kids?
